The International Symposium on Opto-Electronic Sensor-Based Monitoring in Geo-engineering (OSMG) is a series of international symposiums on Opto-electronic sensor-based monitoring in Geo-engineering hosting by Nanjing University, China, every 2-3 years. The symposium was inaugurated in 2005 and was successfully held again in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2017, with more than 1500 participants in total. Since the last event, we have witnessed many advances both in the development of sensing technologies and the applications. Aiming to showcase the latest developments and promote collaborations in geo-sensing, the organizers of OSMG would like to invite you to participate in the 7th International Symposium on Opto-electronic Sensor-based Monitoring in Geo-engineering to be held in Suzhou in October 2020. This event will still be organized by the Center for Engineering Monitoring with Opto-Electronic Sensing (CEMOES) of Nanjing University and Nanjing University High-tech Institute at Suzhou.
The theme of 7th OSMG will be “Geo-sensing and big data”. We will invite prominent scholars and experts to give keynote speeches, sharing their latest achievements in geo-sensing technologies and the applications, the specific challenges in geo-sensing and data mining with artificial intelligence. We would like to offer an international platform for researchers and engineers to promote the geo-sensing development. New products from industrial manufacturers and suppliers will be presented during the event.
A short course on opto-electronic sensing technologies will be held. The main topic will be Optical Fiber Sensing for Geo-engineering. The course will enable the participant to have an overall view about the sensing technologies in a wide range of applications, the advances and the lacks. A specific illustration on the Technical specification for pile distributed fiber optic testing will be given. Participants can also operate equipment and facilities. Qualified participants will be granted a training certificate.
Looking forward to seeing you in Suzhou.
